Ring & Ride provides a door to door service into Barnstaple for those who are frail, have a mobility problem or a disability (physical or sensory). For those in isolated areas we provide a means of access to all the facilities in Barnstaple town centre and in doing so also assist them in retaining their independence and providing the opportunity for shopping, social contact and new friendships. A regular fortnightly timetable is operated. Please enquire by telephone about the availability and frequency of service in your area. Our wheelchair accessible minibus is available for private hire to approved groups

Shopmobility offers the use of scooters, manual and powered wheelchairs to those with reduced mobility to enable them to access all the facilities in Barnstaple town centre. For those clients who require extra assistance with their wheelchair, or with their shopping, volunteer escorts can be provided. Likewise sighted guides are available should they be required. Both of these services must be booked in advance and are subject to the availability of volunteers.

We are a charitable organisation and as such fundraising is very important in enabling us to continue to provide the range of transport services for those who need them.
The Shopmobility Centre has a good selection of second hand books and bric-a-brac for sale. Go North Devon are always looking for donations of good quality second-hand books (paper or hard back) as we sell out fast and need new stock! If you are having a spring clean please don't forget we also need items for our bric a brac stall (no clothing or electrical) and if you have too many plants don't throw them out, please let us have them. All profits from the sale of these donated items go towards Ring & Ride, Shopmobility and Go Out & About services. Other fundraising activities such as quiz nights, bingo sessions, coffee mornings, street collections and sponsored events are always advertised in the local press. If you see these please come and support us and in doing so you will be helping others to maintain their independence, escape their isolation and assist in access to healthcare.
